Stephen SnyderStephen Snyder—the nation's foremost expert on how to recover from personal bankruptcy

Stephen Snyder filed for bankruptcy in 1993 and fully recovered in only 8 months. After his recovery, he created the After Bankruptcy Foundation to show other bankruptcy filers how to recover. Stephen has delivered his Credit After Bankruptcy® seminar for 12 years in as many as 66 cities per year. To date, over 205,197 bankruptcy filers have attended the seminar.

Stephen has made it his passion to understand how credit scores are established. He has evaluated thousands of credit reports so he could understand the keys to increasing these scores. As a result, he can tell consumers how to pay less for everything from home mortgages to credit card purchases.

Stephen is one of the few personal finance commentators in the country trained by Fair Isaac Corporation, the firm that created the scores that credit reporting agencies use to calculate a consumer's credit worthiness. Fair Isaac's FICO score is widely recognized as the industry standard for lenders.
